Agência FAPESP – Applications are open for the São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Quantum Materials, which is supported by FAPESP, and will take place on July 16-26, 2024, at the University of São Paulo’s Physics Institute (IF-USP) in São Paulo city, Brazil.

FAPESP launched the São Paulo Schools of Advanced Science (SPSAS) program in 2010. The Schools feature lectures and courses led by leading researchers in the field. This one will focus on fundamental, theoretical and experimental aspects of quantum materials.

The topics listed for discussion include experimental quantum material growth techniques, advanced methods of materials characterization, density functional theory (DFT), topological insulators, and heavy fermion systems.

The School will also feature two poster sessions where participants can present their research findings.

Travel and other expenses will be borne in full for 50 students and/or young researchers from Brazil, and 50 students and young researchers from other countries. Applications can be submitted online until February 26 at: docs.google.com/forms/d/1pJ3m7u0Icl7bAsCzqNHA7L7eG26J7pdnHfjzpg12KrU/viewform?pli=1&pli=1&pli=1&edit_requested=true.
