By Maria Fernanda Ziegler, from Paris | Agência FAPESP – FAPESP has signed, this Monday (11/25), in Paris, the agreement for research collaboration with the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS).
The announcement occurred during FAPESP Week France, an international symposium that is taking place between November 21st and 27th, at the universities Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and Paris Diderot.
“FAPESP already has 170 collaboration projects with the EHESS, and the intention is that, with the agreement, the partnership will grow even more. I understand that the EHESS is a sort of hub for researchers interested in studying in Brazil,” said the president of FAPESP, Marco Antonio Zago, at the time of signing the agreement.
The document highlights the commitment of both institutions to promoting the implementation of joint research projects, the organization of seminars, and scientific exchange activities that help to prepare the basis for scientific collaboration.
The EHESS brings together researchers and students from all over the world and seeks to understand societies in their complexity. The institution has a unique model in the field of French universities because of its intellectual project, as well as its research training model, its international roots, and its openness to society.
“This agreement is important and will be very constructive for all. We have many Brazilians, Brazilianists, and Brazilian Brazilianists here at EHESS,” said Christophe Prochasson, rector of the EHESS, during the signing of the collaboration agreement.
“It’s a pleasure to be able to conclude this agreement and work with FAPESP to develop, deepen, and enrich the knowledge in social sciences in both countries,” said Antonella Romano, pro-rector of Studies at the EHESS, and responsible for the area of International Relations at the institution.
The FAPESP Week France symposium was held between November 21st and 27th, thanks to a partnership between FAPESP and the universities of Lyon and Paris, both in France. Read other news about the event at www.fapesp.br/week2019/france.
